The Delta Central chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has reaffirmed its support for President Bola Tinubu, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, and Senator Ede Dafinone, passing a vote of confidence on their leadership.
Strengthening Party Unity
During a strategic meeting held at the residence of Senator
Dafinone, party leaders dismissed speculations of disunity within the APC in
Delta State. The gathering, chaired by Chief Paulinus Akpeki, emphasized the
need for greater cohesion as the party continues to expand its influence in the
region.
Senator Dafinone provided updates on his legislative
activities and development efforts in Delta Central, urging party members to
engage with his office to access federal and state programs. He also addressed
rumors of a rift between himself and former Deputy Senate President, Senator
Ovie Omo-Agege, stating, “There is no rift between myself and Senator
Omo-Agege. We must not allow baseless rumors to distract us from our collective
goals”.
Governor Oborevwori’s Role in APC
Following Governor Oborevwori’s defection to the APC, party
leaders acknowledged his new leadership role in Delta State. Chief Akpeki
described the governor’s move as a game-changing moment, urging members to
embrace the transition and work together to strengthen the party’s presence
across the state.
The meeting concluded with a unanimous vote of confidence in
Tinubu, Oborevwori, and Dafinone, moved by State Financial Secretary Mr.
William Deniran and seconded by State Publicity Secretary Valentine Onojeghuo.
