The Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN), yesterday, released its guidelines for zonal elections ahead of the 2025 elective congress.
According to the Secretary General of the AFN, Israel Inwang, the zonal elections will be held between May 14 and 16 in each of the six zonal headquarters of the National Sports Commission (NSC).
The 2025 World Relays will be held between May 10 and 11 in China.
The Nigerian team to the World Relays is made up of 17 athletes, who will compete in four events in Guangzhou.
The Secretary General of the AFN, Israel Inwang, said as of yesterday “We are working hard to ensure that our athletes make the trip. Maybe, by tomorrow, we will be able to tell Nigerians the position of things. But I can tell you that everything is on course.”

The 2025 World Athletics Relays will be held at the Guangdong Olympic Stadium in Guangzhou, China, on 10 and 11 May 2025
This makes it the first. Ever time, China will hold such an event.
